Before Ginger Café opened its doors in Long Street, Cape Town, I was approached to create a brand identity that would compliment the laid back and down to earth atmosphere that was envisioned. With very little budget for printing, the objective was to do as much as possible with a rubber stamp, and limit printing to things that were seen as vital and that can be used in various ways are be easily and cheaply replaced.

UI DESIGN & MERCHANDISING
I was assigned the creation of design elements for a branding pitch deck for a European tech conference. The concept aimed for a touch of quirkiness and unconventionality. Illustrative elements were crafted to be versatile, allowing their use in larger or smaller graphic compositions or individually on smaller merchandise items.
The website was intentionally designed with a slightly vintage feel, deviating from the typical expectations for a tech conference. Despite the distinctive approach, this project did not proceed to further development.

I enjoy transforming copy provided in plain word processor documents by breaking up and arranging the information into visually appealing and easily digestable layouts.
I do this by paying special attention to the five basic principles of proximity, white space, alignment, contrast and repetition.

A significant project involved crafting packaging that not only outshines competitors on shelves but also educates customers about what was at the time a relatively unfamiliar technology to most consumers, all while maintaining the brand's existing recognisability. After completing this, there was a subsequent focus on elevating the market perception of quality for existing ranges without overshadowing the LED range, necessitating careful consideration from the project's inception.
Several features needed consideration for inclusion in the new packaging, and they had to be adaptable to various shapes and sizes. The old packaging, with few exceptions, lacked all the below elements.

I created catalogues that demanded

I designed versatile print advertising templates that needed to showcase multiple products, spanning from luxurious home use to technical industrial items.
In my role overseeing design for Eurolux, the premier lighting products supplier in South Africa, my responsibilities spanned packaging, print ads, point-of-sale items, and catalogues. The visual quality experienced a notable enhancement under my tenure.

DigiTV was a short-lived platform that enabled some of the top schools in South Africa to stream mainly their sporting days, but also cultural and other events, while giving students media experience. I was tasked with creating an MVP version of the home page as well as other basic additional pages which were then developed further by a team in India.

During my time at Novomins, we focused on refreshing the brand to convey a sleek, vibrant, and approachable look, featuring clean packaging and bright, uplifting colours that resonate with a contemporary audience.
